Here are some helpful hints to use when flying with your travel wheel chair:

1. Try to make a reservation for a non-stop flight (no-stops)

2. Know your travel agent. Do they know you're disabled?...and you'll have a travel wheel chair with you?

3. Make your flight reservations as far ahead as possible. You'll want to get a good seat, and of course you can't sit in an emergency exit row.

4. Try to book on a larger airplane if at all possible...and not a regional aircraft of 50 or less seats type of aircraft

5. Although the ticket agent at the gate should arrange for assistance and an aisle chair.
Don't count on it. Let them know what you need.

6. Double check your reservation before leaving the house for the airport.

7. Make sure your name or name tag is on all of your equipment, travel wheelchair, etc.

8. Get to the airport early. Going through security and who know's what else will take you longer than for a non-disabled person

9. If at all possible, use gel batteries in your travel wheel chair. They probably won't have to removed otherwise.
